The Caring Place provides a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Each day includes meaningful activities, gentle exercise, socialization, nutritious meals, and compassionate supervision. While participants enjoy time with friends and caring staff, their caregivers receive dependable time to rest, work, attend appointments, or manage other responsibilities.
What Participants Experience
Meaningful Activities
Art, music, cognitive games, crafts, dominos, and other familiar activities provide enjoyment, purpose, and opportunities for success.
Movement & Exercise
Daily seated exercise and gentle movement help participants remain active while supporting mobility, confidence, and overall well-being.
Social Connection
Participants spend time with others in a friendly group setting where conversation, laughter, friendships, and a sense of belonging are encouraged.
Familiar Routine
A consistent daily schedule helps participants feel secure and comfortable while allowing them to enjoy activities at their own pace.
A Typical Day at The Caring Place
Every day is planned to provide a comfortable balance of activity, socialization, meals, movement, and rest. Activities may change, but the familiar daily routine helps participants know what to expect.
Timeline
Arrival and Welcome
Participants are greeted by familiar staff and volunteers and given time to settle in, visit with friends, and prepare for the day.
Morning Activities
The morning may include cognitive games, art, music, seated exercise, group discussions, or other activities designed to encourage participation and enjoyment.
Home-Cooked Lunch
Participants gather together for a nutritious, home-style meal prepared in our kitchen.
Afternoon Activities
Afternoons may include Bingo, entertainment, gardening, crafts, music, games, or time on the covered patio.
Snack and Departure
The day concludes with an afternoon snack and preparation for participants to return home.
Home-Cooked Meals and Familiar Comforts
Meals are an important part of the day at The Caring Place. Participants enjoy morning and afternoon snacks and a nutritious, home-cooked lunch.
Dining together provides more than nourishment—it creates a familiar routine and opportunities for conversation, friendship, and connection.
Fresh Air, Sunshine, and Time in the Garden
Our secure garden and covered patio give participants opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in a protected setting.
Participants may help plant vegetables, gather flowers, water plants, or simply enjoy the fresh air and beauty of the garden. The covered area, retractable awnings, fans, seating, and secure fencing allow participants to spend time outdoors comfortably and safely.
Gardening can bring back familiar memories, encourage conversation, and provide a meaningful sense of accomplishment.
Supporting the Person and the Caregiver
The Caring Place is here for the entire family.
While their loved one enjoys a safe and meaningful day, caregivers have dependable time to rest, work, attend appointments, run errands, or care for their own health and well-being.
We also help families explore financial resources and connect with caregiver support and community programs. Caregivers are always welcome to contact us for information, guidance, or simply to speak with someone who understands the challenges of dementia care.
